The Story
of Paul
I am first and foremost a husband (since 1995) and a dad (since 1999).  My family represents the best of my life and is the largest legacy that I hope to leave behind.  My daughter (Sierra) is 13 and has aspirations of changing the world (marine biologist with a deep love for sharks).  My son (James) is 18 and has aspirations to make it through college at Rutgers in Camden, NJ, where he is studying Computer Science.  My wife (Melody) is the love of my life that keeps me focused and grounded, she keeps me laughing and guessing (she has the best Facebook posts of anyone I have ever seen) and she continues to light up my world.

I am originally from upstate New York (born in Syracuse, NY), and currently reside in Cherry Hill, NJ.  I have been many things in life:  a student, completing undergrad work (History/Religion degrees) from Mount Vernon Nazarene University (the first on both sides of the family to complete a four year degree).  Completing a MBA from University of Phoenix online while working full time.  As an employee I have had two careers and I am currently on a new adventure. I was a youth Pastor for 11 years. Serving in several different churches that ultimately moved me from Ohio, to NC, to Florida and finally to NJ.  I have been employed by TD Bank until recently for 15 years and served in several roles, from Customer Service, Sales (Store Manager), to Regional Management, Human Resources, Workforce Management, and finally Corporate FTE Strategy.

Currently I am running for the US House of Representatives as an Independent candidate in NJ1, in an effort to give voice to those who feel disenfranchised or lost in the game of party politics (paulhamlin.com).  This new adventure is eye opening, mind boggling, and fun as we learn together and try to make a difference.

My hobbies include movie enthusiast, try to stump me with a movies line.  A runner, having completed five (5) marathons and several half marathons.  I enjoy volunteering my time with an independent running team for students in Mount Laurel, where we try to teach young people about the discipline of running and the joy of running (yeah, it never really gets easier, or fun necessarily).  I also thoroughly enjoy writing, politics and consider myself to be a policy wonk.

I believe that we have an amazing opportunity right now to change the world, one heart, one mind and one vote at a time.
